The Big List of Male Hating Lies

Women were not allowed to vote until the 1930's

The very erroneous claim that women were not allowed to vote until the 19th amendment was passed. There are actually a few things wrong with this statement. I'll get the nit-picky one out of the way now - the 19th amendment was passed in 1920.

TRUTH:

In America (before it was the United States of America), the first woman, Lydia Taft, voted in 1756.

Please refer to wikipedia

Lydia Taft was allowed to vote, because her husband and oldest son died. In those days, only one vote was allowed per household. So, just as many women were not allowed to vote - many men were not allowed to vote either. Farm hands were not allowed to vote - people who owned no land were not allowed to vote.

As time progressed, women have always voted. Various states had various conditions that allowed women to vote (one example, a woman was only allowed to vote if she had 50 pounds in cash or owned property - there are other examples as well).

The voting right in older times was more about class than sex.

The only thing that the 19th amendment accomplished was it regulated that all states allow all women to vote without any conditions. And; it was passed in August of 1920 - not in the 1930's.

In addition to this, no woman alive today (unless she is well over 100) had to endure any of this falsely claimed "oppression" (i.e. victim status).
BRAINWASHING:

Well before the 1930's (which should correctly be stated as the 1920's), women were allowed to vote. However, many women spew this out of their mouth with a certain sense of victim status. Victim status breeds hatred. Fabricated or fictional victim status breeds unnecessary and irrational hatred.

Sound like any women you know - or have met?

Feminism does not stand for equality - it stands for hate.
