The Majority of Stalkers are Men
OR:
The Majority of Stalking Victims are Women.
Much TV, media and whatnot all claim that the majority of
stalkers are men, or that the majority of stalking victims are women.
I have NEVER believed this, because I know what it is like to get 15
phone calls from 1 woman in a 20 minute period - each one more
hate-filled and menacing than the previous. Many of my friends have put
up with the same type of nonsense. I have NEVER met a woman who was
being stalked though. Things that make you go HMMM...
TRUTH:
According to: 2007 Home Office British Crime Survey, 7% of men suffer from some
form of stalking, and 8% of women suffer from some form of stalking.
Yeah, 8% is quite a majority isn't it.
In spite of this fact, the majority of movies, TV shows and news reports
constantly bombard us with images of men being overly possessive,
obsessive, and typically violent.
We rarely see the flip side of the coin.
BRAINWASHING:
Women (and men) are lead to believe that men are all odd, clingy, overly
possessive - and of course, the way to deal with it is to make biased
laws against men.
